General Instructor School 2026

This class will be conducted from 0700-1545.  This course is designed to meet the training requirement for the Certification of Criminal Justice Instructors as set forth in the DCJS Reference Manual.  The goal of the program is to prepare the criminal justice trainer with the basic skills necessary to research, design, prepare, present, and evaluate a block of instruction.   This class requires a minimum of two years’ experience in a criminal justice agency to attend.
Due to the limited number of days, the student will be required to complete work outside of class.

Dress Code

Students attending in-service and specialized courses shall wear a departmental uniform or, at their option, civilian attire. Uniforms shall conform to departmental policies. Civilian attire, if worn, must conform to standard departmental policies. Jeans, shorts, tank tops, muscle t-shirts, midriff shirts, sleeveless shirts, and clothing that displays any profane, vulgar, or abusive language or artwork are prohibited.  Students are encouraged to follow their agency policy on dress code while at a training assignment. Remember you are at work, although off-site.
