Q. Where can I obtain a transcript of my training?

A. All transcript requests go to Ms. Patronda Graham at pgraham@hampton.gov. Transcripts can be mailed electronically to the requestor.


Q. How many in-service hours are required to maintain my certification as a Law Enforcement, Jail, Court Security, or Civil Process Officer?

A. Law Enforcement must attend 40 hours of training every two years which must include 4 hours of legal and 2 hours of cultural diversity.

A. Jail officers must attend 24 hours of training every two years which must include 4 hours of legal and 2 hours of cultural diversity.

A. Court Security and Civil Process must attend 16 hours of training every two years which must include 4 hours of legal and 2 hours of cultural diversity.


Q. How do I become enrolled at the Hampton Road Criminal Justice Training Academy?

A. The academy does not accept independent students. You must be sponsored and enrolled by one of our member jurisdictions.


Q. Is the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy a public or private institution?

A. The academy is not a private institution. To attend training you must be sponsored and registered by one of our member jurisdictions.


Q. Who is responsible for administering the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy?

A. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall running of the academy. He reports to a Board of Directors who are made up of the member jurisdictions listed on this web page.
