Description :
CASC will be conducting six DUID Training Programsacross the Commonwealth in 2019. This training, for judges, prosecutors and law enforcement officers, focuses on the difficult cases involving driver impairment due to the use of illegal and/or prescription drugs. Topics to be covered include: Recognizing the Drugged Driver, Crashes, Blood Testing Issues, and much more. Additionally, the latest version of the Virginia DUI Manual will be distributed to all participants.
There is no chargefor this single-day training program. Lunch and break refreshments will be provided at no charge. Virginia State Bar MCLE and In-Service Training Credits (4 hours Legal, 6 hours total) are pending.

The DUID Program will be presented at the following locations in 2019:

Winchester: May 9, 2019 - at the Frederick County Public Safety Building
Richmond: June 5, 2019 - at the Virginia State Police Academy
Roanoke: June 27, 2019 - at the DFS Western Laboratory
Nokesville: September 4, 2019 - at the Prince William County Public Safety Training Center
Charlottesville: September 18, 2019 - at the Albemarle County Police Department

Leadership Institute (The)

Description :

Session I: May 20-23, 2019 
Session II: August 5-8, 2019 

This course is intended for the new or emerging leader. Officers recently promoted for the first time will benefit most from the training. Topics of instruction include: self-assessment, situational leadership, employee motivation, problem solving, decision making, organizational behavior, organizational change, conflict resolution, etc. This course is divided into two sessions. The first session is four days (32 hours) and the second session is also four days (32 hours). There is an application process for admittance into the program. Also, there will be a minimal registration fee. Look for additional information on the program in the early part of 2019.
